@Lynn - I'm not sure on this one. You could always try it. I'm running mine closed right now, so I bet it would work.

Hi,

so i broke my screen and have just been using the computer to watch tv online ( i have it hooked up to my tv) its been working out great, but it looks really ugly and takes up space. I have to keep it open to have the computer run. does the computer function if you remove the screen completely and just leave it off? or do you know if there are settings to keep the computer running while closed?

OK if you are in NY area we offer the Macbook screen replacement for $159 installed on the spot - meaning we come to you and fix it on the spot. As you can see we get ALOT of people calling half way through their repairs as online guides can tend to be confusing. We do also offer mail-in service

Thank you so much for this guide...its wonderful. Attempted myself...all is fine except when i took off the metal around the screen i took out a webcame screw and now I do not know where to put the write back...it is the wire cased in silver that runs around the perimeter of the metal around the screen. At the end of the wire is a circular golden thing with the wires attached on one side and the other side is black. Where does this go? Any ideas? Any help would be immensely appreciated.

Denver!!!
There is a gray clips that probably still on the frame. You need to remove them first and then put insert them into metal hinges.
